IGP Idris is in London for a meeting with metropolitan police - NPF...read more!!!!

Ibrahim Idris, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has dismissed reports that he led a high powered delegation to visit President Muhammadu Buhari in London.

Idris, in a statement signed by Don Awunah, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the force said contrary to reports, he was in London on an official visit on the invitation of SO15, the London Metropolitan Police Service.

The IGP arrived in London accompanied by: DIG in charge Finance and Administration, Mr Shuiabu Gambo, Commissioner of Police in Charge Monitoring Unit, CP Umar Garba and other top ranking officers

The statement reads: "Contrary to the compelling objectives of the planned visit, however, some sections of the Nigerian online and print media are disseminating invented and incorrect stories, and misrepresenting facts regarding the official visit of the IGP to the United Kingdom.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the IGP did not lead “a high powered delegation” to visit President Mohammadu Buhari, who is on vacation in London. The visit of IGP to London while the President is on vacation is merely coincidental."

The SO15 is part of the Metropolitan Police Service Counter Terrorism Command that works for the protection of London and the United Kingdom, against threats of terrorism.

President Muhammadu Buhari is on a two week vacation in London and doubts have been raised about his true state of health.

The disturbing report on Buhari's health was alleged by fake Metro (UK) site that "quoted" the Nigerian mission in the country as confirming the president’s death.

The report claimed that Buhari visited the UK for medical check over an unknown disease adding that details of his death were still sketchy.IGP Idris in London for Meeting with Metropolitan Police
