A human rights group, Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice, CHRSJ, has declared its support to the plan of a peaceful mega and solidarity rally, to be organised by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
The rally is in support of the smooth and successful takeover of the 45th American President, Donald Trump, and release of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and Director of Radio Biafra leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and other illegal detainees by the Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Department of States Services, DSS.
The group described the peaceful rally as a welcome development, calling on the Nigerian authority to release Kanu, and other members of IPOB, who have been detained illegally since, by the Buhari administration, in the course of fighting for their inalienable rights of self-determination.
It advised the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government, to obey the both Nigeria and ECOWAS court orders, on all the present political detainees in the country, as being stipulated in the constitutional democracy, saying disobedience of court orders by Nigeria government, was sending wrong signal about the country to the international community, as a lawless nation.
Declaring its support to the IPOB peaceful rally in support of Trump, slated to hold on Friday 20th January, 2017, tagged: “IPOB-Trump Solidarity Rally”, the CHRSJ, through a statement signed by its Executive Chairmen, Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman, which a copy was made available to Newsmen on Wednesday, disclosed that freedom of the self-determination fighters, should not be negotiable in a country like ours, condemning the continued detention of IPOB Chief, Kanu, and his members, by the Nigerian government.
Comrade Sulaiman, maintained that the Nigerian government should release every member of the IPOB illegally detained, on Friday unconditionally, as a mark of honour to the new World President, Trump, describing detention of Kanu and others as illegal, unconstitutional, undemocratic, evil, and satanic.
The CHRSJ boss, further stated that the emergence of Trump as President of America, was a good thing to happen to America, as a world leading country in her democratic culture, praying to God to give Trump the successful tenure of office, by making America and other countries of the world to enjoy peaceful co-existence.
Sulaiman therefore, noted that the CHRSJ, had concluded arrangement to join the IPOB, in any of its subsequent peaceful protest in Lagos State, aside the Friday peaceful protest, slated to hold in the Rivers State capital, Port-Harcourt, urging the security agents in the land to be guided by the constitutional provision of protecting the lives and property of the citizens, during the peaceful rally, and they should not serve as saboteur to the peaceful protest.
