APGA OLD AND NEW LOCAL GOVT,ZONAL,STATE EXCO'S MET. DIFFERENCES RESOLVED. PLEDGED TO WORK FOR THE RE-ELECTION OF GOV OBIANO. Yesterday,at J.Jumac hotel Awka,the incumbent state chairman and national chairman of APGA,Chief Nobert OBI and Victor Oye respectively with Chief Victor Umeh convened a meeting for the past local govt and state EXCO'S led by Akunwata Mike Kwentor. The state chairman and national chairman spoke of the importance of re-electing Gov Obiano for second term and the need to preserve the unity in Anambra state.

They urged the past executives to support the present executives and offer ideas to them with the experience they have garnered over the years. When the former national chairman of APGA,Chief Victor Umeh stood up to speak,his "ibobo" was literally felt as he went back memory lane . Sir Victor Umeh made a shocking statement that made the crowd applaud . "This meeting was called late" "It was not the fault of Gov Obiano ,Chief Victor Oye nor Chief Nobert OBI . "It was the fault of a man who went to hunt with us but later turned back to tell us that our legs looked like the legs of animals. "I was called this morning by the leadership of APGA to come and speak to old party exco and it gave me an opportunity to meet with those that worked with me. "They are not here to eat rice but to be shown love by the party they toiled to build. "I know that some of you still have meeting with Peter OBI and will still have a meeting with him and that distraction is the reason why I said that it was not the fault of the present leadership of APGA that this meeting was called now "OBI was not chased out of APGA but decided to leave to join PDP and now he is in PDP,we should not allow him destroy the party you and I built but we'll rally round Gov Obiano and return him for second term. "Together,you and I supported OBI from 2003 to 2013 and together we will support Obiano for second term. "Everybody will not get appointment at the same time,some of you have gotten appointment now and some of you will get in second term. ......Chief Sir Victor Umeh spoke passionately to the old EXCO'S of APGA. Continuing,Chief Victor Umeh talked about the efforts the party made to got back Obi's stolen mandate by Chris Ngige and how he personally went to the archives and read that a governors term runs for four years after he is sworn in ,discussed it with Late Ojukwu and OBI,went to court and had Andy Uba's 17 days governorship rule end. According to Sir Victor Umeh,he was the one that sacked Andy Uba . Sir Victr Umeh told the past party exco about the origin of the crisis in APGA and explained how Late Emeka Ojukwu in 2010 decided to support OBI for second term on the condition that he will conduct LG election immediately he wins to empower the party at the grassroots . After Obi's victory at the pools,he sent Sir Callistus Ilozumba and Paul Odenigbo to meet with me at Enugu and tell me that he doesn't want to conduct the election again but wants to appoint caretaker committees at the local govt.and wards using problem in old voters register as reason which I refused and stopped coming to govt.house ,Sir Umeh said. According to Sir Umeh,OBI began to plot on how he will remove him when he insisted on local govt.election or nothing and brought in Maxi Okwu,conducted a congress at night ,removed him but he went to court to get back his leadership mandate. Chief Umeh said that after his victory at the appeal court,he reconciled with Peter OBI and together Obiano was produced as his successor. One month after ChiefObiano's victory at the polls,Sir Umeh said that there was a meeting between him,OBI and Obiano and in that meeting OBI asked him to contest for senate for he will represent his constituency and can speak for the progress of Nigeria at the red chambers and we all agreed that OBI will be Bot chairman of APGA. Three months after the meeting,OBI was made the Bot chairman but we needed to have a congress to ratify it but OBI became elusive and started making moves to join PDP. The first thing OBI did was to send some APGA house of reps.members ,Cyril Egwuatu,Afam Ogene,Uche Ekwunife ,Chris Azubogu to PDP ,Sir Umeh said The former national chairman said that one of the house of reps.members,Afam Ogene later called him while he was in USA in the presence of Sani Shinkafi,former national secretary and told him that OBI asked them to go to PDP but he wants to come back to APGA for his conscience is judging him and he asked him to go to his constituency,Ogbaru,call a stakeholders meeting and tell them.(As Umeh asked if anybody here attended such meeting,two people raised up their hands in affirmation) As these house of reps.members joined PDP,Obi perfected his plans and joined them .Nobody chased him out of APGA,Ohamadike said. Conclusively,Ohamadike asked the former party excos not to allow OBI infiltrate them with lies and spoil their minds about Gov Obiano but to support the incumbents in returning Obiano as we returned OBI in 2010. Sir Victor Umeh rounded up his speech by talking on the three cardinal reasons why the past excos should support Obiano. (1) To preserve the ideology of Late Emeka Ojukwu and promote the image of our party. (11) To sustain the security network Gov Obiano has given us.
